These gases trap heat, which leads to a rise in planet temperatures this is commonly known as global warming. Causes:
Greenhouse Gas Emissions- Burning fossil fuels (coal, oil, and natural gas) releases carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (like methane, CH4, and nitrous oxide, N2O) into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat, which leads to global warming.
Deforestation- Trees absorb CO2, so cutting down of forests reduce the planet's ability to reduce carbon emissions. Deforestation also affects local climates and biodiversity.
Industrial Processes- Some industrial activities release greenhouse gases and pollutants that contribute to climate change.
Its Impacts are heat-related illnesses, respiratory problems from poor air quality, and the spread of diseases are linked to climate change, changes in temperature and precipitation patterns impact crop yields and food security and extreme weather events and rising sea levels can damage infrastructure, reduce economic productivity, and increase costs related to disaster response and adaptation.
Addressing climate change is a complex, global challenge that needs coordinated efforts across governments, industries, and communities.
